I can see no reason to want to move away from the Uni sponsorship, they are are good fit for the community image and seem to be paying the going rate. No reason to think they would not continue to pay the going rate as and when the deal comes up for renewal.
I take Hammie's point about cuts in staff though. But in reality running costs and advertising/sponsorhip are two different budgets and need to be managed properly and separately. You could even argue that without the advertising & sponsorhip money producing the growth the cuts to running costs might have to be even more severe.
