Question is what would a conventionally run club with a reasonable degree of ambition do in this situation?
In my view we have three possible options.
One is sit back and hope that nobody comes in with an offer got Morrell or Bishop. The 'head in the sand approach'.
The second is grab any half decent ofer for either player and sell. The 'eat what we kill approach' favoured by the Eisners.
Finally, the most sensible way forward, share the summer break plans with them and outline the club's ambitions for next season and then offer them a new contract on money that reflects their importance to the club and recognises the fact that they are top pro's and deserve to be rewarded like their peers with other big league one clubs.
Unfortunately I won't be holding my breath on the last one!
