I thought this was going to be a reference to us seeing Millwall again next year.
Plus Cardiff, Leeds etc. If Birmingham had survived and Chelsea and Man City picked up well deserved financial irregularity relegations we could have been heading to a mid 80s reunion tour.
84 season revisited oh, if only
84 - that year gives us two seasons for the price of one.
The first, and at the risk of sounding like Ron Manager; BCBAWA, Le Coq Sportif shirts, Hateley & Biley....
The second with the Hateley funded rebuild; ABBAWA, Mad-Mick Kennedy, Blakey, Billy Gilbert, "He's here he's there..." poor old Mick Baxter plus Yosser & Neil Webb, Santa-time... Oh and a Pompey team playing in all red, but no one would have said they were "scummers".
Plus Elland Rd, St James's Pk, St Andrews, Stamford Bridge, Maine Rd, the Victoria Ground, Leeds Rd and obvs the old friends.
Ha.
Could be that I was at the right age at the time but overall from 1970 to the present day, for me, that period from circa 82 to circa 87 where my most enjoyable years of my Pompey “career”. Still love the Le Coq shirts now. Went to all the away days you mentioned, and many more. Full on, frantic days out lived at 100 miles per hour Happy days.
