Incredible, isn't it? Who in their right mind would have voted for them, exgaffer?

those who really care about the football will arrive early and get in the ground with no problem. Those who value the pub more highly will arrive late and whinge about problems getting in.

Maybe those of us who wanted the result of the biggest democratic exercise this country has ever known respected BTC. There was no choice because the other parties wanted to ignore the result if the referendum, thereby rendering the act of voting totally pointless for ever. In any case, all the other parties are supporting the current nonsense aren’t they? Brexit was, at least partially, carried out. Now we move on to cleaning up the total cesspool that is Parliament (all parties not just the Tories).

This is the new fake nooz, you can't deny that this is mostly a problem for the tories - both now and historically. Funny to read it constantly trotted out to try and mitigate the damage to tory futures though.

There are sneering, expense fiddling, lying, double dealing tossers in all parties and it pains me to have to vote for any of them.

We need a new political system as apart from a few years under Tony Blair, until he decided to support Bush and invade Iraq, our goverments have bèen pretty crap all my life.

True George but nobody really cares about sex scandals apart from the gutter press do they? I don’t care who shags who, I do care about people who impose rules on others but don’t follow the same rules. Not to mention arrogant bastards who try to ignore a democratic decision. As for running out of money, we ran out of that a long time ago. Parties of all colours make no attempt to balance the books and seem happy to condemn future generations to pay for their profligacy. The current ‘Tory’ government has put all previous governments to shame in the spunking money stakes. We need to sweep away the current system and come up with something where the elected government is truly representative of, and accountable to, the people. The party system is completely flawed and needs replacing. The House of Lords cosy little club needs to be replaced with an elected second chamber while we’re at it.

I think its pretty evident that unfortunately a signifcant amount of voters do worry about sex scandals. Which has at least contributed to the downfall of many Uk goverments over the years. The present goverment in my opinion are the worst of my lifetime. Sleaze will eventually bring them down. I suspect the 1922 comittee will get rid of Johnson in an attempt to cling on to power. But that probably brings in the odious Gove.

Stephen Milligan didn’t die by his own hand. He was about to blow a story about Justin Fashanu and two government cabinet ministers. I used to know a Sun journalist back in the day.
johnson’s surrounded himself with thicko’s to protect his position but it makes for a hopeless leadership team and he’s become soft touch for the ERG/CRG nutjobs. He’s now got himself in a tricky spot, the brexity-types still seem like him for delivering Brexit, the anti-mask freedom-at-all-costs loons now hate him for the Plan B and maybe Plan C. Unfortunately those two groups are the same kind of people. He’s found himself having to placate two groups of people that he naturally opposes. Brexit was just a ticket to being PM, it wasn’t supposed to win, he’s always been pro-EU, the whole bendy banana schtick was just for lolz and a bloated salary. Elmwood seems to be putting some space between himself and all these idiots, I think he fancies his chances.

Returning to the title of this thread.......
It appears that under 18s will be exempt from the need to prove their vaccine / LFT status. If so, this undermines the purpose of the new legislation as the under 18s are the section of the population most likely to be Covid positive. Nationally the rate of infection in this age group is 2 or 3 times that of the 'typical' football fan (believed to be aged around 45-50) and in some parts of the country the youngsters are 4 or 5 times more likely to have Covid. Also, is it a reported attendance of 10,000+ (including season ticket holders whether or not they turn up) or the actual attendance? Reckon there were only around 12,000 at Tuesday's game despite the official gate being 16,000+

I work in schools and they are full of Covid right now (or actually quite empty because so many pupils and adults are at home ill)
To get in easily we probably have to arrive early. But if we do, we probably then all go and sit indoors in he bar, rather than outside in the open and quite breezy air. We'd best hope this latest variant does turn out to be fairly mild. Its all a bit of a mess.

The latest variant is very transmissible and mild, it has been around for months and so far no deaths have been reported. The mess is totally is totally of our own making and we need to snap out of it pronto. If we don’t this shitshow will go on for years ffs.

Please stop, exgaffer. There is not one thing in your comment that is true. It's all bollocks!

Actually what ExG says is absolutely correct. As one of the main (lefty) media outlets has pointed out, more people world-wide have been killed by sharks in the last 3 months than by Omicron! Omicron is very contagious but very mild. It's probably the best hope for herd-immunity.
11-12-2021, 05:06 AM
Even a 'mild' variant can cause severe problems.
https://metro.co.uk/2021/12/10/covid-saj...-15753744/ But vaccine passports won't be any use in those circumstances.
11-12-2021, 07:11 AM
I think the vaccination figures are well known by everyone.
A corresponding number of passports can be expected to be shown. What is this trying to achieve?

So are you saying that kids are NOT tested then? Are you saying they are not being ‘encouraged’ to wear masks? Peer pressure being applied and all that? Are you saying that they are not being taught to fear something that is of virtually no risk to them? If you are, you’re a bigger liar than I thought.
11-12-2021, 09:23 AM
I work in a local secondary school and this is what is happening where I am:
1) Covid is prevalent. 2) Kids and staff are expected to be tested twice a week; many do not bother. I cannot prove, but expect, the vast majority of pupils do not test themselves. 3) Pupils and staff are being made to wear masks in corridors but, literally, not anywhere else. A minority of pupils and 2 staff I know are refusing. 4) Pupils are not being actively told their risk of being seriously harmed from Covid is close to zero. I tell them this because it is blatantly true and the truth matters. Unsurprisingly, some timid and vulnerable pupils are genuinely scared by the constant fear porn coming from the MSM. IMO, this one sided fear narrative is a form of abuse and manipulation and must stop. However, most pupils think it's all ridiculous and couldn't 'give a monkeys'. 5) Pupils, like all of us, are not told that there are other proven measures that can massively reduce the risk of harm from Covid (i.e. taking Vit D, to give just one example). I have shown my GCSE pupils multiple science papers showing Vit D works in reducing pathogenic illnesses including Covid (i.e. they and I follow the ACTUAL science). That Vit D massively helps with Covid is a scientifically proven fact and that people are not being told about this is a crime; I genuinely hope people face jail time for the amount of deaths this deliberate lack of information from vaccine fanatics has caused. I am pro-Vax but know vaccines are but one of many valid health measures. 6) Whether the Covid measures are either necessary or effective is not open for debate. we are expected to simply follow orders. The 2 staff refusing to wear masks, by school standards, are, whatever anyone's views on masks, acting bravely and thinking independently. I have shown several staff and some of my pupils the video of internment in Australia. We must stop pretending these things are not happening, stop pretending all these rules are for our benefit and start engaging the 'grey matter' and thinking for ourselves what type of society do we want to live in. We desperately need to separate the political response to Covid from the realities of the actual disease. They are not the same. The political response is becoming incredibly authoritarian and is genuinely terrifying; much, much more worrying than Covid. For example, the banning/censoring of genuine world experts, the censoring of effective alternate treatments, Govts in Austria and Greece taking control of people's bodies (others likely to follow), and (my 'favourite' so far) internment without trial in Australia (seriously, WTF!!!!). I would like to think that whatever any of our views we can agree on 2 crucially important principles: 1) No one ever should be made to have any medical treatment/s or procedure/s they do not want. 2) We will never allow internment of our fellow citizens for Covid related matters. I think the answers to these 2 questions will go a long way to separating the Nazi's amongst us from the rest. |
