Turns out the guy was a Brit.
The Mirror have a video of the death. Grim that they've run it.

Dreadful, horrific way to go, but they've reported they're hunting for the shark, why??
That's unfortunately what sharks do in the shark world!

I always find it strange when they say they’re hunting the shark. We go into it’s territory and natural habitat, that’s the risk. If I was walking down Commercial Road and a great white leapt out of a doorway then I’d understand the shock and horror( never mind wondering what it was doing in Pompey lol).

Yep, if you go into their domain. that’s a risk you take. No self respecting Great White would be seen dead in Comical Road.

And Feargal
I'm hoping you've got your coat Isaac(?)
I was in the Maldives on hol a few years back swimming out by a reef and got hit hard on my leg under the water, I must admit I absolutely crapped myself. I ducked down under the water half expecting to see my leg gone and a fecking big shark grinning at me, it was actually - what I found out later - to be a Trigger fish, protecting its territory, and is a right stroppy aggressive little bastard but nowhere near great white standard, thankfully! Still I flecked off sharpish.

Did your monster say "all right Dave" But anyway I know the feeling, I was tickled by a minnow once. Now I´ll get my coat

Feargal is a bit of a regular in a pub close to me. That’s my only got-close-to-Shark(ey) story.
