A part of growing up for many of us.
A sad loss.
A sad loss.
RIP Dennis Waterman

Half the town wanted to be Terry, without realising that half the town was Arther Daley! RIP.

Just the one Mrs Wembley
I met him a couple of times in the 80s, once through some work, another in a pub in Wooburn Common where he lived. Very down to earth bloke, chatty and friendly. Really sad he's gone.

Really enjoyed most of the stuff he was in too. I’m not going to say the 74 was ‘no age’ but it is getting a bit close to home for people of my generation. RIP Dennis.

Wife beater tho’.

If I was married to Nicola Sturgeon, there is a high probability that I would turn into one!

I would love to see duffers stand up and shout that out at his funeral...

He admitted it. Go ahead and paint him as a total diamond geezer if you want, but there’s no getting away from the fact. What’s wrong with accepting the full person, good and bad.
…and why would I go to his funeral?

Ever hear the saying, ‘ if you can’t say anything nice , don’t say anything at all’.

There is no comparison between the two and you know that. People were commenting on Waterman’s career and the fact that he was in a number of series that people enjoyed and looked back on fondly, they were not commenting on flaws in his private life ffs. Why do you feel the need to sour that just so you can appear virtuous? Your sanctimony does you no favours. RIP Dennis Waterman, thanks for the memories.

Guff, thanks for your usual guff, but it is exactly what people were saying about Savile immediately after his death. You’re not suggesting false equivalence are you? That’s a bit rich.
Dennis Waterman beat his wife, that is a fact, he also appeared in a few tv series which were popular - which is the most important aspect of those two statements?

Dennis admitted he once punched Rulla twice, hardly wife beating as in regular abuse more momentarily loss of control which ke deeply regretted. Something he honestly discussed in interview and a thing only a saddo would raise at a time of his death with his current wife at his side. RIP Dennis. Look down and urinate on the clown.

"RIP Dennis. Look down and urinate on the clown".
Not entirely sure Charlie Cairoli would appreciate your sentiment, frankly!

Calm down ‘Brian’, I don’t think this place is as popular as you think it is - I doubt any of Dennis’ family have seen it. But useful to know that you think punching women is acceptable.

I dont see anyone saying that @ all, you seem to be making a dubious comparison with Saville who never showed any remorse for his crimes. Waterman said he was deeply ashamed of hitting Rula Lenska. Huge difference. RIP DW. (warts n all)
