Striking has ruined many of Britain’s traditional industries and is currently ruining the railways (among other things). There is always a right to withdraw labour (leave and get another job) if someone is dissatisfied with their pay and conditions. I think there should be a ‘no strike’ clause in all public sector contracts, holding the entire country to ransom in order to further the interests of a relatively small number of people is totally unacceptable in a democracy. Strikes belong in the days of dark satanic mills when workers actually were exploited and there were no employment tribunals or other jobs to go to. The current inflation was caused, in large part, by the trashing of the economy quite unnecessarily during the totally incompetent COVID response. This was largely supported by the unions and the left in general, in fact they would have gone further. You reap what you sow. You can go on strike if you like though mush .

should be on the other board section.
Just as a matter of interest the Railway owners have not actually made the drivers a pay offer, just told them to negotiate without being told what they are to negotiate as a starting point. Even the Radio 4 presenter could not believe how this could possibly work.

You sound like someone who hasn’t caught a train in the last 25 years lol. Trying to blame inflation on the unions and the left is a ludicrous thing to claim. You must be quite quite mad or horribly misinformed or both, m m mad and horribly misinformed.
