Jackett was slagged off all over the internet for playing ugly football. But he had the best away form I can remember from any Pompey team. Played like teams do that come to Fratton and leave with a point or three.
So perhaps we need to learn to play pretty at home and ugly away?
Think its just that we aren't quite good enough myself. Good teams can win away playing attractive football. 02/03 & 16/17 come to mind. But I think on tuesday a lack of a midfielder enforcer did for us. Morrell & Lowery are both 5 foot nothing, Tunnicliffe isn't exactly known for his tackling either. For the 1st goal they ran 2/3 of the pitch without a single challenge coming in.
I think LT is our best bet short term, decent player & hard as nails just injury prone sadly.
‘Tunnicliffe isn’t exactly known for his tackling’?

Yeah, you’re right.
How about I cherry pick all the ones he doesn't make..err thats impossible but you get my drift.
Our midfield 3 on tuesday were frequently overrun & as I said for the 1st goal never offered so much as a semblance of a tackle & allowed Barnsley to run 2/3 of the pitch!!
