So yeah, I would have been all for the same democratic process oversee the Brexit referendum - only 37% of the total electorate voted Leave and we'd have dodged the madness. So presumably you’d be sympathetic to bigoted Jocks who hate the English but not bigoted English who hate the Jocks? Anyone but the English eh?

I like the Jocks, well most of them anyway, and the Welsh and the Irish.

Not keen on scummers though  Smile .

There is no discernible difference apart from the accent and you know there isn’t.

I used to work for a scottish business that had an office in London. We'd go up there for the Christmas party and other business through the year, and I can assure you there is a mahooosive difference between us. The fact that there are only a handful of scottish Conservative MPs should tell you that much.

I'm not sympathetic to any bigots - you of all people should know that Smile  (passive aggressive smiley)

You think you are the only one who has been North of the border then?

There’s probably a massive difference between them and you, that’s because they are normal people like most of the the rest of us  Smile .

Getting desperate posting Guardian articles again.

Guardian reading is the very definition of a cult, wall to wall woke leftist bullshit.

Guff, the Guardian are only reporting what’s happening - go look again at the sources of that data: OECD, ONS, government departments, etc. There isn’t a Brexit defence that makes any sense, unfortunately you’re the one that won’t accept facts. Brexit is a cult that has you firmly in its clutches.

You can quote all the initials you like Tufnell, but everyone (except you and the BBC apparently) is well aware of the selective reporting and extreme bias of the Guardian. I wouldn’t wipe my arris with it.

Cult members are blinkered and obsessed, the mere existence of this thread proves that you are both.

Now pop off and read some more fiction if you want, don’t bother us with it though.

Well, if its so selective, you must have so many positive Brexit stories right at your fingertips - so go right ahead and list them.

...oh wait, you can't and - in six long years - you never have. Remind me, who's wearing the blinkers....

C’mon Guff, give us a whole day of positive Brexit stories - all those ones The Guardian knows about but are refusing to print.

I don't disagree that the Guardian shows some bias in it's news reporting and opinions. However, Guffs, can you please show me any media source that doesn't. Personally like to gain news/opinions from both sides of the political fence and then try to sift through to find the real truth. Personally I would say I find the Guardian a lot closer to the truth than the majority of media sources.

Sadly there is a lot of truth in what you say Tufnell and finding a pure news source is very difficult if not impossible.

However there is bias and there is extreme bias, such as that displayed by the Guardian, Mail, Mirror, Sun etc.

I prefer to look at news outlets from everywhere in the world to find out the actual events, then try to read between the lines with the bias.

We are very poorly served by our media (of all colours), not just in the slant that is put on things but the sheer volume of news that is deliberately not reported because it doesn’t fit the narrative of the news organisation.

It really is a sad state of affairs.

Well Private Eye's pretty good. And the Byline Times, they're pretty good too. You might discount these because of perceived bias. I like 'em.

I like Private Eye Scouse but one look at the Byline Times is enough to show that the bias is actual, not just ‘perceived’  Smile .

What’s another £10bn

Remember when some people were saying “they need us more than we need them”. Seems like a long, long time ago now.

Well if we needed them more than they need us, there wouldn’t BE a ‘divorce bill’ would there?

This payment was supposedly to pay for obligations we had but I think we did a piss poor job ‘negotiating’ the settlement.

Leaving that parasitic, controlling, globalist, undemocratic, shit show of an organisation is the best thing we ever did.

“that parasitic, controlling, globalist, undemocratic, shit show of an organisation”

…you’ve just described where we are right now. I clearly remember voting for my MEP, I don’t remember having any say on who is about to lead our country.

…and I preferred it when we all had money in our pockets.

So Guff, if you actually believe your line "but I think we did a piss poor job ‘negotiating’ the settlement." what was our leverage? What was it we had that would make them go "oh, hang on a minute", because I can't think of anything. We've put ourselves outside of all EU infrastructure projects, we've put ourselves out of all the Horizon science projects, we're outside all EU financial services. We've less disposable income.

And if your using EDF to supply your electricity, your hugely inflated bills are now subsidising French EDF users, ensuring their energy rises remain as low as possible.
