I can't see anything but a Derby win but anything would be a bonus.
The Derby distraction dropping points when Wycombe want a win on Weds

Wycombe are never mugs at home, so anything could happen pretty much. Just takes one player to do something stupid and get sent off in the first ten minutes (I may have just such an occurrence burnt into my Pompey memory)

The games for Peterborough and Derby, on Saturday, look more interesting. Away to Oxford and home to Orient.

Pretty much if any lose a game, we are just about home?

Yep. If they are less than perfect, we are up

Can't see past a Derby win.
However, if Derby fail to win, we would only require 3 more points for automatic promotion.

Repetition, repetition

Derby will probably win however I thought that when they played Northampton a couple of weeks ago as well. Will be keeping a close eye on this one whilst I hit leg day hard.

2-1 Wycombe

I'd think Derby will be feeling a lot of pressure tonight - anything less than a win puts Bolton in the driving seat for an automatic.
I was thinking Wycombe have nothing to play for, but don't they blame Derby for getting relegated to League One (points reduction delayed or something)?

My guess is less than the 11 that will be starting the match against Derby tonight. What I’m actually saying is I doubt this will have much effect on the Wycombe performance

On a side note did you know Erika Mitchell aka E.L James author of Fifty Shades Of Grey went to Wycombe High School? Neither did I until I googled it the other day in training for a pub quiz

What I’m actually saying is I doubt this will have much effect on the Wycombe performance It was only two and a half years ago, and they were only up one season, so maybe a fair few, but in the spirit of my usual research zest, I can't be bothered to check. There's a feeling about recent injustices that transcends just the players though, and I'm also possibly just looking for extra justifications for my hopes Wycombe give them a f good hiding tonight

At the end of the day we beat Bolton on Saturday and we’re up. If it’s a draw then we are effectively 1 point away and if we lose then we need to regroup and go again against Barnsley after that and we’re still not promoted it’s time to shit our pants again and completely fuck it up. I really hope we don’t do that again as we have done so many seasons before
10-04-2024, 08:29 PM
If tonight ends in a draw and we beat Bolton on Saturday then we’re promoted and Champions as the max Derby could get would be 92 points
10-04-2024, 08:40 PM
No motivation there then.

Beat Bolton Saturday and it’s party central

Derby didn't have a single shot on target & they started with Collins, Mendes-Laing, Blackett-Taylor & Washington

Wouldn’t normally contemplate this because it’s a dumb idea really but happy to draw sat and finish the job here. We get 4 bites at the cherry now.

Now treat the Bolton game as a one off cup final. Go for it. If it goes tits up, we have the safety net of more games.

No holding back on the ratings. Can’t afford to drop any more points. As for Peterborough 6 games in 17 days is an assault course. |
