Isn’t that the seat fabric from 1987 Vauxhall Astra?

One of the first offerings was literally a training top with a badge on it. Last years was a bit better* but I was hoping we'd get a kit manufacturer that gave a feck. Nike don't. * not including that awful 125 kit which proved that Nike are not only shite but also colour blind.

The shirt in that picture looks shit!

Looks more like Millwall or Chelsea than Pompey.
Just look how good the 70s tops were and rehash one of those, it would be a winner I'm sure

I got my first company car in Jan 1987 which funnily enough was a Vauxhall Astra Estate -IIRC it was maroon red with a grey interior, it is quite possible the seat had a pattern something like that sh!t shirt !!

Yeah, my dad had an Astra Estate as a company car - in that exact shade of blue. Load of rubbish.
Seems a long time since those CCC kits.

Yeah those 1.3 Astras were a bit underpowered, the estate was pretty roomy though. A couple of cars later I had a 1.8SRI Astra which was pretty quick. I've got a couple of Reebok & Asics T m-shirts that have done well - don't know what the football gear is like though. Those CCC Canterbury shirts were quality compared to Nike, Adidas etc, it is still good stuff thesedays - made to stand up to the rough & tumble of rugby.

If that’s the shirt il stuck to the retro ones and save my money.

I think they will include a triple sized badge !

A red pinstripe around the collar and down the white binding would be better.

I’ve revisited this four times now, and sorry, it just looks shitter and shitter each time I look. Might look different in the flesh but not a Pompey blue, looks like it should be worn by female rounders players!

I'm waiting for exgaffer to come on here and call everyone a kunt for buying them in the first place. Since I've moaned at every single shit Nike top we've had I was kind of banking on it.

It’s the same situation as the England shirts, if you are mug enough to pay the extortionate prices for the shirts, you have more money than sense . If the shirt is shit don’t buy it, if you do they’ll just keep producing shite shirts and charging you through the nose for them. The retro ones are cheaper and better imo. I’m too fucking old to wear team shirts anyway, I stick with t shirts with the crest on mostly.

All the time they keep selling, Nike will keep churning them out.
The retro types in big enough sizes are going to take an increasing chunk of the older market.

Since 1970 I have only worn a shirt to a game once, long story so don’t ask, and still feel a coont today for doing so over thirty years ago! I do not give a flying fook about supporters buying them, their choice but what I do care about is what MY team look like running out into the pitch in them. I want that shirt to scream history, pedigree and class. Not whisper two bob, potless coonts that do not warrant a proper shirt deal with a company that is actually arsed about us.

I don't really like it. Also I wish they could do something about the shorts. A stripe or some piping would be nice.

Mate of mine who played for Pompey in the 70s was rightly ridiculed by Geordies up at St.James when he wore a white suit in the pre-match pitch inspection. Don't think he ever wore white again...
