The manner of this is exactly what's expected and required. Hopefully we get the monkey off our back in 45 mins' time

This fell apart after 50 mins. Mousinsho has blood on his hands, once again not reading the game in front of him

They went for it, we sat deep. Did Mouse notice that Stoke went for it and mullered us.

Barry Bannan pulling the strings second half . So we resort to hoofing it up
front with no purpose . Yeah have to agree JM is out of his depth so are many of the players

It’s hard to be optimistic right now. We look every inch the worst team in the league all over the pitch.

Moose said on Sky " We haven't dealt with the step up to the Championship well"
Has it occured to him that is because a lot of the players you bought in aren't of Championship Standard!!!

Exactly right.

Lumping balls to players that don't win them. Wingers that have no pace. Useless knobends like Murphy and silvera that can't beat a man and/or cross the ball. U23 loan players with no spine. A captain who just doesnt have the thinking time for this league. And a bench full of players that we have signed and simply dont play. This is assembling a cheap collection of players with a highly optimistic opinion it'll keep us up. Moose needs help and clearly he's not benefiting from the experience of harley.

Good old Barley!

Barley wine presumably. Often seen as a tonic.

The Double D's are still showing they have it. The story of Dozzell's career so far is bags of talent, looking seriously good in patches but ultimately flattering to deceive and fizzling out. Maybe Pompey is where he fulfills some of that potential.
Devlin is one who is going to get snapped up before too long. He strikes me as someone who can nail down a spot in a Premier League team one day or be a utility man for one of the big boys.

Devlin is just getting better everytime I see him.
Particularly effective on the right.

Really tenacious player, just what we love at Fratton.

It annoyed many of us on here to read of him bossing an international match but not even being good enough to get on our bench.

I think the standard of N Ireland U21 matches is several levels below the championship, but it's all the same encouraging that he can adapt to different stages. But definitely not a reason to play him here on its own, his performances in training sessions will be worth far more, and now his performancs in the first team show how well he has been developed and brought on at the right pace.

I’ve been following his career since he was a 16 yr old at Dungannon . In fact I emailed RH about him and got a lovely reply back just before the season started just after we bought him saying thanks and sorry the couldn’t reply sooner but they were already in negotiations with his agent. I was royally pissed off when JH left him out of the 20 man squad a few games ago. He’s going to get snapped up soon.

If we are to develop as a team we need to hold on to players like him. If we must sell him then hold out for a really high price. I know the club talks about developing young players and selling on at a profit but right now we need players like him at FP.

We definitely need him for the short and probably medium term. I don't know what release clauses he has if any but we must try not to let him go without some serious reward. He seemed to lose his way a little last season with injuries then that dismal performance against Wimbledon in the EFL trophy. But before that he slotted in pretty nicely and looks to have taken another step forward.

Hold on, hold on! He’s not an international star yet. He’s turning out to have some good ability at Championship level over a few games but let the lad continue to develop at a sensible rate.
There’s a few of us on here that could see he had potential but a good percentage who thought he was pants. A similar thing happened with Kamara last season. To some, he was a world beating, dyed in the wool Premier League player who we were mugs not to pay 5 million for. Devlin could turn out to be a very good player for us but let’s just see before we start talking about offloading him before he’s really started. Personally, I’d like to see him in midfield. I reckon he’s potentially got everything about him that Morrell had and more.

He started of as a defensive midfielder/midfielder and he is an International albeit U21,however I'm sure it won't be very long until he makes his senior debut. I do think he will be snapped up (hopefully not for a while) especially if he progresses in the manner of which he's doing. Surely that's what the Eisners current manifesto is 'find young emerging talent, develop them, play them & sell them for a decent profit'
11-11-2024, 12:48 PM
Quietly confident he won't go.
If he was sold we would be asking astronomical sums so we ould sign a Championship ready made replacement. No one will pay what we would ask given his status as a prospect. |
