Personally I'd flood the centre of the park to try and stop the goals leaking in - we have conceded the most in the league now.

It might be worth playing Devlin in front of the back 4 - his pace, desire and tackling could really ease the pressure on the back 4 and stop teams just waltzing straight though us.

Macintyre is costing us goals and needs to be dropped.

I'd give Silvera another go with Ritchie coming on after 60 mins.

I think the current trend for slating Macintyre is a trifle unfair. We are currently allowing the opposition to walk right through our midfield and I don't think any defender at this level is going to do any better under those circumstances. I certainly don't think Poole is playing any better (and I'm not blaming him for that). Midfield needs to grow a spine and throw in some hard tackles - none of which Ive seen in noticeable quantities from any of the players that have turned up in those positions. Both defence and attack are suffering from the ineptitude of the midfield. There's no outlet for defenders, there's no pace down the wings and then are feck all decent crosses for our attackers to seize upon.

That’s why we need 2 be playing 433 all the time we continue playing 4231 with playing a player out of position behind the striker that is the first crack down the spine. Also pack can’t be starting the press because he becomes way out of position

I’m certainly not slating McIntyre. I rate him above Poole, who isn’t coming out of defence with the ball, can’t pass anything more than a few metres and certainly can’t head a ball to a teammate. He’s a shadow of the player we saw at the start of last season.

Both are returning from long lay offs and are a new defensive partnership.I have sen glimpses of Poole’s form from last season ,Burnley being an example.I am more worried about them in terms of stature.The central defenders from an opposition perspective in all the games I have seen this season are all giants.Anothervreason while we seem so ineffective at corners.Desperately missing Shaughnessy.

Agree.I still think we look lightweight and lacking in pace all over the pitch.It is a hard watch at the moment .We look like we are going to concede goals continually whilst not scoring many.Always knew this would be a tough season compared to last.Want to see some fight from the players now and no more meek capitulations like stoke and Cardiff.Huge games the next three.

Shockers is predominantly right footed & started the season there. I assume Bowat is right footed & was pencilled in to provide competition for Poole there.

As regards stature. Luton down to ten men played a Micky Droy type on his own and we kept pumping it onto his head. Seems a fair thing to do defending against one striker on his own up front. As with Raggett he seemed to love winning headers and defending in general, I do like one of those in there, the other 9 can look pretty and pass sideways for him.

I know Pack is out of fan favour atm but he is our most experienced midfielder and we badly need experience, so maybe being dropped will give him the kick up the arse he needs. Also bring in Moxon who probably is our best box to box midfielder. My only change would be Devlin for Moxon and either Swanson or Williams at RB. As an aside Murphy need to learn to track back to support his fullback like Lane does.

He played the 1st 2 league matches there with Towler on the left - two draws including a clean sheet wasn't too bad.

If anyone saw the Luton v West Brom game last night you could see how far away we are. It was a poor game but still both sides were streets ahead of us. And you couldn't tell who was in the top 6 or bottom 6.

Really not sure about a long coach journey up north and play the same day. Surely a bit of team comaraderie at a hotel overnight might prepare better and start refreshed in the morning. When I used to collect autographs in the 60s I used to go to the hotel where teams were staying on the Friday night - even lowly teams visiting in the cup stayed overnight so can't imagine its the expense.

My Mrs supports Watford so I saw them get battered by Luton a week or two ago. And my point in another thread was how much better 18th placed Wednesday were than us. Not everyone agreed.
