Were we really that desperate that we borrowed an unfit player? Bloody hell!

I expect they had replaced him by that point.
Possible

Most likely
Became a bit part player under Arveladze, apparently. So he wasn’t rated by him.

‘Bernard became somewhat of a bit-part player following Shota Arveladze's arrival at the club, but with the Georgian no longer in charge, a return to the MKM may not be out of the question if Bernard is given assurances over game time. Nonetheless, there are no suggestions Liam Rosenior or the club are are keen on a return at this stage.’

Doesn’t sound like they were that bothered.

So….less likely that they were interested in the first place.
He’s not the manager that signed him and he only lasted 8 months in the role.

There’s reports of them being interested in signing him before his injury.
8 months is a bloody long time in football. That could be nearly a season! That’s certainly long enough to work out whether you rate someone or not. It took you a fraction of that to judge Scarlett. Koroma didn’t even last that long.

From who did these reports originate?

Perhaps if he played him he wouldn’t have lost his job after 8 months, that was my point. It’s similar to using Danny Cowleys opinion on a player.
The manager who signed him, rated him, played him and still got sacked.

There seems to be a split on opinions as to whether Bernard is any good or not, both between fans and managers.

From who did the reports that Hull wanted to re-sign him originate from.

The same paper you quoted and some Man U reports.
Injured out for 3 months.

Bullet dodged

Yep, fantastic player but that injury record is such a problem.
