it will undoubtedly be hard, but at least Robertson has got injured now than the day after the window closes.
Hopefully we can bring in a few to fill the gaps and prove as good at recruitment as in the summer.
So what happens under these circumstances? Is the deal automatically cancelled thus freeing up a potential loan spot?
Good question.

Is his rehab our responsibility? I would guess we’re still liable for his wages.
Must be time to fly another banner over FP

We'd have to be in the Championship to stand any chance of re-signing Robertson.
Robertson has gone back to Manchester City for his rehab, but we still have to pay the wages that we were paying under the conditions of his loan. It's not been cancelled. He's technically still on loan at Pompey and will remain so until the end of the season. Ridiculous.

As Robertson won't be in the squad however, we can get an additional loan in.

I.e if he was fit and in the squad, we could get two loans in for example

As that's not the case, we can get three loans in now I believe.

Pretty sure that was what Andrew moon said on his podcast. You can find it on his twitter.

It’s 5 loans in the match day squad so he won’t be in the squad so won’t matter
Just got to find a player to replace him then.

Should be simple enough………

You never know, we might get somebody better.
Robertson was going to lose his place in the team anyway unless Pack or Morrell were unavailable or he switched positions with Pack and Pack played no 10. He wasn't the best at no 10 imo.

Robertson played the vast majority of his games for us in the 10 role and is generally regarded as having been excellent for us in his time here. Yes, he was also good in the deeper role, but IMO he was as good as a 10 as anyone in this division, with the exception of Brannagan.
Not that many teams play with one.
He was poor his last 3 or 4 games and scored only one goal in 22 appearances. Having said that, he was excellent early season and is very young so was probably overplayed. A good prospect, probably championship material. Don’t think he’ll ever make the City first team but I may be wrong!
He was better before he dropped deep for a month, but was improving again.
BUT in that position you do need a few goals over the season, otherwise there is too much pressure on the sole striker and wingers.

Brannagan wouldnt be a bad signing probably cost @£500/600k depending how long he has left on his contract. It would be a statement of intent from The Eisners,. Not sure whether they would be prepared to finance such or similar signing.

As has been pointed out by others on this board, as a number 10 he didn't score enough goals and didn't link up well with Bishop. I do agree that he has been a good loan for us and wish him a swift recovery.

Not cancelled, from a financial p.o.v. we continue to pay what wages we agreed for the rest of the season.
And the Eisners have pledged to disregard his salary from the budget so we can increase the budget to sign cover - respect.

just wondering, does that fit with the fair finance rules ?
The eisners won't invest anything meaningful in the playing squad.
