Eddie Howe might be a (good) candidate but hasn't won anything so far. At least under Klopp he'd get the best out of the current talent (which Southgate hasn't been able to do unfortunately).(01-07-2024, 07:40 PM)66zoolane Wrote:(01-07-2024, 07:27 PM)Rocketman Wrote:(01-07-2024, 07:07 PM)Hammie Wrote: Its annoying. Looking at the progress in each tournament, he's probably the most successful England manager since 1970.Agree 100% on both counts.

Dyche for me. I want to hear that raspy Capstan Full Strength voice explain a 2-0 loss to Malta in the qualifiers.

Going back to the pundits. Elsewhere I saw the ITV panel form some time in the 80s. Clough, El Tel and another experienced manager. All successful. As opposed to the current board of strikers who have never managed successfully, if at all. In fact most of them never won much beyond domestic trophies and not many of those.

Do you know what, that makes me struggle to find a single thing Gary Neville has ever said that I have violently agreed with. What a shitshow of a manager he was

I always struggle to understand why, when you're outplaying the opposition with attacking football, you get into the lead (or two goals in the lead) and then decide it'd be a really great idea to completely change the flow of a game you were dominating by starting defending deep. I suppose we could ask Kenny?

If its France there's no need for either team to venture out of their halves. We agree to meet for penalties.

Bare minimum once again. Just fook off Gareth.
There was a little bit more appetite to try to win the game but its just so far below what the team should be able to do. Thank god for Saka's moment of brilliance. Onwards to take on the weed smoking farmers.

Better, against a decent side.Through to the semis, having grown up assuming that England would never even qualify, it could be far worse.
My only worry is the number of yellow cards that we are carrying. Onwards and upwards. as a man said, "if you can't enjoy it, why bother?"

Stop worrying again Hammie :- "Yellow cards are wiped after the end of the quarter finals meaning no player who gets a yellow card in the semi-final would miss the final."

Excellent news!
I which case we will either lose on pens in the semi or win the thing!

The only bit we were better at, were the penalties
