If it’s true WBA are interested in Hirst it then makes more sense for us to target Bishop. From Leicesters point of view it would benefit them more to loan Hirst to a championship club to gain further experience

God I'm tired of all this nonsense. We've got billionaire owners, we're debt free, almost without exception the under performing hig earners have gone, we've got a massive fan base, we're looking at close to 14,000 season ticket holders. So all this begs the question...Why can't we afford Hurst? Why can't we match other League One clubs in terms of wages? I think the overwhelming majority of us know the answer to that one and those that don't must be stupid. As an aside I don't like to put a damper on one of the few deals we've concluded. Pigott is on a season long, no return with an option to buy deal....but he's on £8,000 a week at Portman Road. That could be a problem.
If a champ club offers him a deal, no league one club can match it, unless we want to follow Derby and the like. and there are finance rules in place that affect us but not relegated teams (for 3 years)

1. It’s not your money
2. We don’t have massive support, we have great support with an extra 10,000 glory hunters when we play well or get to Wembley. 3. There are not many if none at all L1 clubs that can afford £1M+ for one player. 4. We’ve now brought in 5 players and probably need another 3-4 . Loans/ freebies etc still cost a lot in wages. 5. We got off to a slow start but we are competing and competing well. 6. Stop feckin whinging.

Is this the same Hirst that up until half way through last season the majority on here were saying he’ll never make a player as long as he’s got a hole in his arse?

Yes I agree but I’d take him as one of a three with Pigott and Bishop. Prices being bandied around are silly for Lge 1.

We do have a massive support. We sold over 60,000 for efl final v Salford before sales stopped by the f.a due to covid and the game was played behind closed doors.

Wonder how many of those were clamouring for a ticket on a wet Tuesday night in November against Accrington. |
