It would be an interesting exercise to understand what proportion of their revenue Brentford spends on scouting, academy, U23's U21's and recruitment. My hunch is that they have bulked up this side of the business to support the strategy.
Everything we do in this respect is anaemic. We haven't got sufficient resources and foundations in place to successfully implement the eat what you kill strategy. We're hunting bison with toothpicks.
