I understand that loan players contributed a great deal last season but equally, the strategy is hurting us this season as we search for replacements for people like Kamara, etc. Also, I understood the Eisner strategy was to bring in young promising players, develop them and add to their value for OUR benefit. Instead, we develop other teams players so that they secure the financial benefit. Loans have a part to play but we need to have our own players. I can see us looking at further loans for Robertson and Anjorin next and good as they may be, if we go down that route, we look only at the short term which seems at odds with all the Eisner family preach. I still say we need a stronger base of permanent signings.
What is the difference between signing, say, Robertson 'permanently' for two years, him playing out his contract and then moving on for nothing and signing him for two consecutive seasons on loan ?
The only difference I can see is we would be paying all of his wages instead of only part of them.
If loans have a part to play, which you seem to agree with, then you want to make them the best possible loans you can get and we largely did that last season and won the league with them.
