But I would disagree that 25k seater stadium would not be viable with fan/hnw ownership. However, It would have landed us with a great big fat mtge to pay off though. (And it we likely would have had some large issues during covid).
The frustration is that the eisners have all this resource, cheap capital and "expertise" available to them. The trouble is that we have barely progressed an inch as a club since they took over. The rate of progress seems negligible right now.
On the pitch its arguably gone backwards.
Off the pitch, the academy is a wreck, the managemt structure is flawed and they wont put heir hands in their pocket to hire the key position to implement their recruitment strategy. The stadium only had work started on it when their hand was forced; 4 years in to their ownership.
Pretty much nothing has been achieved to expand capacity to what it needs to be. The only big thing that they have done is to purchase Roko, and my cynicism tells me that they want to make a profit on it by building housing.
We are stuck between a rock and a hard place. However, we are probably marginally better off with the Eisners due to short/medium term cash flow issues we would have encountered.
Totally Agree with you Pedalo. You've summed up our current position precisely.
The Big Plus is the Debt Free position but we are just treading water at present.
Hopefully, the ground improvement work will be finished before the start of next season & we're back to 20K.
I believe we need a blend of increased ST revenue, increased sponsorship & some sort of investment from the owners if required.
When did you last put a single penny into the club? You don’t go to games, you don’t buy ifollow.
Not for some time but I did try to buy tickets online for a couple of games last season & wasn't able to. The Online booking system wouldn't let me pay for a ticket & couldn't get through to the ticket office. iFollow sounded a disaster & we were playing rubbish football so didn't bother. However, I'm looking to attend some games next season if I am able to book tickets online. I have previously been a season ticket holder BTW.
I've got Kaspersky and have to turn it off every time I want to pay for Just Eat or Pompey Tickets.
Probably won't renew it as my IT savvie son tells me that most IT professional now agree that the standard microsoft cover is just as good.
