Jackett had to go, but this was the best alternative available to us???
100%
Name me another manager (that isn't similarly inexperienced) who would sign up for us and then put up with the restrictions that the Eisner's impose on them.
DC transformed the careers of 2 players and improved the career of one other, it shows that DC is able to identify targets that other clubs failed to spot. From mid January until the end of the season we scored 3 or more goals in every home game, with the likes of Robertson starting to show their promise.
Im not his greatest fan, but when you're swimming in krap what do you expect to be stuck with when you get out. But the fault lies mainly at the feet of the Eisner's here in my opinion.
1, Last May, they supervised the wholesale break-up of our academy structure without adequately replacing them. They still haven't.
2, They allowed or failed to discourage the break up our first team - again without any active plans to replace them beforehand. It still hasn't been fully addressed.
3, They attempted to mitigate the first team withdrawals with embarrassing mega-trials of players nobody else wanted. They still failed to fill the team
4, Their inept actions resulting in a team being hastily assembled as the season began at the last minute.
5, They also make complete hash of coaching appointments that ambitious clubs require.
6, As the season progresses, they show limited interest in team strenthening and more on buying a gym.
7, This season they do the same thing as the last one by showing little interest in keeping players, and even less in replacing them.
8, See "Point 4". Yet again we are waiting for key replacements heading into the preseason and fails starting a new one with unfit players who aren't familiar with their teammates and not settled. It's no coincidence that Hirst only really started firing in late December when he knew his teammates.
9, This time, instead of Roko, they are protecting their investment by making a conversion job. Even now, all their actions would allow them to profit from a sale at anytime.
So yet again, we're playing catch up. I don't think DC is god but he isn't god awful. He's got to explain all of this to us (coz the Eisner's and their CEO puppet are not going to) and expect us to still buy season tickets.
Having seen first hand how little the owners view promotion, I'm actually quite calm about things. DC was appointed because he was cheap and will take the heat. I'm fully expecting by the first game to have 15 or so core players and for the team to exist comfortable in mid table whilst the Eisner's hope for somebody to take us off their hands.
I just don't see the point of Eisner buying us. They barely even see us play. Sorry for long post.
Back Danny or Sack him...
Will he walk??.
I personal don't think he's transfers have been that bad. Tactics on the other hand a whole different story!. Unless the plan was to bore us to death....
