No need to be rude.
You obviously spend a lot of time reading everything in the snooze!
I went on the O.S. after your original barrage & could find nothing about training ground developments.
Next time I'm down in the area I'll go to the Roko & see for myself.
The main point of my post which you appear to have completely missed is we need a competitive academy/U/23s.
The Snooze journos are a bunch of bozos lots of page filling tripe is written.
If you want to know anything about Pompey Health & Fitness Club ( Roko) ask me- I'm down there swim or Gym 4/5 days a week.
The PMC building team is at present fitting out new players gym, medical rooms, players lounge, managers & coaches rooms etc etc etc in the main building. It will all be ready for pre- season training at start of 24/25 season.
RH & Co obviously didn't think any of these 11 academy players were potential championship material- trust their judgement. I dont see any of the Academy cast offs from the last couple of years making an impact anywhere.
You can't just click your fingers and expect a flourishing Academy & U23 team - you have to build the facilities & infrastructure.
Many thanks for putting forward the actual facts which is good to know that the club is planning ahead.
It's refreshing to hear from someone who actually knows the facts.
I don't live in the area any longer so don't know what facilities the Roko has.
How many training pitches have they got?
I know it will take time & need to be patient but be good to see us moving forward as we hopefully get promoted.
All the players & coaching facilities will be in the main building separate from the PHFC members gym by the start of pre- season training.
At present there are two full size training pitches at the front- not that visible from ground level plus a half & a bit size pitch used by goalkeepers & general fitness work (mainly players not in full training but out on the grass)
At the back there are a further two full size pitches that the academy mainly use. Players also use the swimming pool & all the spa facilities (hot tub, sauna & steam room)
Once the 1st team move to main building I understand that the portakabins that they use at present will be removed & the half size pitch will become full size.
The old tennis courts & the former five a side pitches can then be worked on (more grass pitches & an indoor dome? - but that is a bit further down the line).
