The point is that the Eisners have added nothing since they took charge. I was initially incredibly excited to have someone with a profile and business acumen of Michael Eisner but we've seen none of that at Pompey. I think what this shows, is that you dont have to be intelligent to be a billionnaire, you just talk shit until you get what you want.
On and off the pitch, its been a farce. Mistake after mistake after mistake. All the momentum we had is gone and its going to be a couple of seasons before we can challenge again. They asked us to judge them by their actions. Well after 4 seasons it's pretty fair to say its been shit so far.
What is the point of having $2,000,000,000 in the bank if you cant use a tiny tiny amount of that to capitalise on a market where players will never be cheaper to acquire. Nah, we'll just let Wigan out muscle us and get in some non-league teenagers and some loans. Smart business that, brilliant. 40% budget cut? fine, i'm reducing my contribution by 40% too (im feeling petulant).
And before the usual suspects pop up with "BUt wErE In A paNdEMiC wItH No INComE". I am aware. Tornante owns both Topps and Pompey. What is the point of that structure if you cant offset one against the other to take advantage of market conditions? Isnt that the whole point of a diversified business? Make $1Bn on one, spend 4M on the other?
Rant over, i feel much better now
