It's a disgrace not to have a senior striker yet

No future planning at all. Sell someone, get money in and get another player on loan. Is this the way forward? Surely we will buy one striker this window? Sorry, I feel quite irritated at the moment. Hoping for better soon.

Safe to say, no-one saw that Harness move coming. Nice of us to help out a rival where he’ll no doubt have the season of his life and soon be joined by Hirst. That’s not gonna go down well. Hope we got enough to go and spunk on a decent striker.
All this begs the question - where the eff are Ipswich getting their money from.

We’ve weakened Ipswich , harness is useless

Quite happy to see the back of Harness. We have killed, now we can eat

Still need 4-5 signings but at least we have a striker on the books now.
Hopefully some decent money in the pot for Cowley now too.

Great to have a striker in the building. Shame we still don't own one though because it doesn't address the issue for next season.
Harness we knew was ofski the moment he was withdrawn from the Bristol City game. Would love to know what we got for him.

I reckon we would of got between 400-500k as a fee. Probably had to pay Ipswich a small loan fee so maybe got at least 350k in the transfer fund. Which is nearly enough for bishop I would say.
Bishop being 25 good age age for a striker

This is a good deal, we get a fee for an inconsistent’ winger’ and we take a striker on loan with an option to purchase at a later date. This means ( hopefully), that the Harness fee can go towards a fee for either Hirst or Bishop or maybe even wages to bring Walker back .

Does he have a recall clause ?

That remains to be seen. As well as more strikers we still need to find someone with creativity. Whilst Harness was inconsistent he at least had that.

Not that I’ve read anywhere. This is a shrewd move, we get to look at Pigott for a season and then a chance to buy him if it works out. In the meantime the Harness money can go towards other transfer targets- hopefully Bishop or Hirst.

Jacobs is far more consistent (and better) at creativity than Harness was. But Harness kept him out of the team for a long time.

I have been trying to find it. It was the first thing I looked for this morning.
Nothing on The News at the moment. https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/footb...ad-3770785 https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/footb...es-3770818

"On Monday, TWTD reported that Pigott's move to Portsmouth, understood to be a loan with an option to buy, was well down the line and set to go through in the next few days."

"Jacobs is far more consistent (and better) at creativity than Harness was. But Harness kept him out of the team for a long time."
Agreed, (Harness ran with his head down whereas Jacobs has awareness) but DC didn't see it that way - and there's the question mark over him being injury prone. Maybe he'll be needed on the left if Curtis goes. It would be folly to not bring in someone to balance the right side up who can put a cross in - that's what Piggot will feed off as he has no speed.

We still have 4 wide players in the squad. Curtis, Reid ( who can play left and right), Recco and Jacobs.
