That all said, have a look at what Fulham have managed to do at Craven Cottage. They have not moved, but significantly improved their ground which has stood on the side of the Thames since 1896.
If they can do it - so can we and we stay at Fratton Park.
It would have been a terrible idea:
Loss of green space and football pitches for the city.
Flat pack stadium.
No decent boozers nearby.
Would have generated lots of journeys, forcing the people in and out of the city to travel to games.
Awful exposed position, would have put a lot of people off on a wet Tuesday night.
Would have taken hours to clear the car parks.
Very, very bad idea all round.
