Whatmough was player of the season in a team that won the league. And named in the L1 team of the season. Raggett was player of the season in a team that finished 10th and was not in the L1 team of the year.
Player of the season is player of the season, just because your team was successful that doesn’t necessarily make you a better player does it?
Whatmough is a really good player, of course he is, but so is Raggett. Whatmough has a history of bad injuries, Wigan took a gamble on him and it paid off, it could just as easily have gone the other way.
I wish Whatmough and Raggett all the best in their careers and I am delighted that Raggett will be with us for a while longer. Hopefully he can be player of the year in a promoted team this time round.
Oh and Raggett can play the ball out too, which you will see if you can be bothered to look.
