Agreed. For me, it's go now so someone else has the January window (preferred option) or stay to the end of the season and start afresh with someone decent at the helm... and no, I have no idea who that could be!

I can't see Richardson coming here unless we offer him a long contract.. His stock will still be high, considering what he has achieved recently. And I think he is probably hoping for a championship job to come up. Unless he is offered good terms in league one, I can't see him taking a league one job.
Remember what they say never go back!..
18-12-2022, 01:02 PM
They have had their 3 transfer windows. He’s got the players in he wanted and we play like that yesterday! We have some decent players a different manager will get a much better performance out of them!
18-12-2022, 01:21 PM
Beginning to think that the brief for Jackett and the Cowleys have always been to keep us in the awful division. Would possibly explain the very odd tactical changes by both managers when we get in a decent position in the league. How is dropping Raggett a bloody tactical change when we continue to leak sloppy goals? Cowleys idea that using Robertson in a more central role because he can spray a few passes around, all be it from defence is just pathetic. GO NOW!
18-12-2022, 01:27 PM
Agreed, reverse logic, especially when he often sprays good passes from left side of the defence, easier to do than from the centre. Crazy

GO! "If nothing changes then nothing will change"
18-12-2022, 02:15 PM
The header from Robinson back into danger after they went through 1v1 should see him dropped next game
18-12-2022, 02:19 PM
Been found short, go.

Usual nonsense from the baying crowd who think they understand how football works but fail to give any weight to the almost unique set up that we have here under an effectively absentee American ownership who just don't care because they're not bothered...over 17,000 turn up every week (that's at the moment, of course)... so what is there to worry them?
I have tried very hard to support Cowley but now take the view that he should go but therein lies the problem. Everybody knows he won't be sacked because it's not part of their ethos and will find paying up contracts totally abhorent and not part of their business approach. On a similar point if they go they'll have to fork money out to bring in the right replacemement with the knowledge and experience to turn this whole thing around...they won't do it. We're in big trouble whatever way you look at it, I'm afraid.

It lacks acumen, in my view, not to see early termination of Cowley's contract as an investment in promotion to the Championship
19-12-2022, 07:43 AM
Promotion to the championship can only happen once (without relegation). It really isn’t the be all and end all.
I’m very disappointed that we haven’t maintained our early season form. I want to see what the squad can do when it’s complete again. I don’t understand the ‘tactics’ employed on Saturday. I haven’t yet seen the whole game, so I can’t comment with full knowledge (unlike some on here). I do know that I’m not impressed with the efforts being produced by some players and they need to shoulder a lot of the blame. I’d say stay until the end of the season. This one’s dead anyway, unless we get some luck in the cups.

Dropping Raggett, if he did, is inexcusable. Morrison is not as good at defending or passing or striding out with the ball or scoring.

Have to go. Been given time, discarded some good players to get their own in, and can't get them performing. No memorable action from matches just dull, stale, nothingness coming up with increasingly conviluted formations, not because they suit the players, but to show how clever they are. Repeatedly having a down on certain players and not using them when they could improve our team. And giving preference to borrowed players over our own.
19-12-2022, 12:07 PM
After Saturday I'm amazed he is still here. Most of the players looked uninterested (Dale was an exception for me). Following on from the Wycombe shambles that is totally down to the Cowleys

You can't help injuries, unless the training load and fitness balance is wrong, but you can motivate whoever is left to give their best and pick the best tactics.
I was hopeful at the start of the season but I can't see a way forward with the Cowleys any longer.

9 points off a relegation place, 18 points off top spot right now. If we win our games in hand yadee dade dah dah.
What if we lose our three games in hand? we seem to be quite good at doing that. Do we want to be in a relegation scrap? I dont want to change the owners. I dont want to see poor football played at home. I dont want to see my team lose every week, or even scrape a draw against minnows. I have no objection to a change of manager. PUP FFS.

I just don’t see the point of giving him a 4th window

Before calling for the Cowleys to go, I'd like to hear direct from the players. Some simple questions, which need straight honest answers:
1. What is your view on why we've had some terrific performances and some absolute cr@p? 2. Do you understand the fans utter frustration on a pathetic performance like we had on Saturday. 3. Do you, and does the team, still believe DC is the right man for the job. 4. What one thing needs changing?
19-12-2022, 03:55 PM
Don't think you'll be getting any answers to that lot

I'd say stick with him despite the fact that Saturday was a 'manager sacking' performance, as was Charlton & Wycombe.
But it was our first home defeat since January and we are still well placed for a push for the playoff so I can't see a knee-jerk reaction from the board because they are not knee-jerk type people, which is just as well or we would get throught 5 or 6 managers a season if reacting to crowd opinion. But if we do not improve in January with Rafferty, Thompson & Lowery back and reinforcements signed then he should go, and I mean improve back to the promotion form we showed in August & September. The only thing from Saturday that Cowley came out with any credit from was that he did not make a big thing of the referee depriving us of a perfectly good equaliser, because I think there is every chance we would have won had that been allowed and it is not very often that a referee comes out and admits a mistake of that magnitude after the game.

Deep, perhaps you can help me out. Using freeze frame, Koroma is offside when Mingi plays the ball. Surely, even though an MK Dons player then touches the ball, Koroma is offside when the ball is played, so rightly the ref blows the whistle. N'est pas? In fact the goalie made no attempt to save as the whistle had been blown a second or two before so he might have saved it anyway. What really annoyed me was the incredibly soft goals we gave away, the second just after a worldie by Griffiths.
