I wonder if he actually knew their names. It's not unheard for players arriving very late on to have that problem.

Not at all, I've worked at my current company for 5 years and I still don't know the names of half the people I work with.

A notch up from both Griffiths and Bazanu in my opinion. Apart from the great stops, I like to see a keeper who is stepping up and taking control of his defence and he was berating and encouraging his defenders all the time yesterday. If he is a sign of the characters and leaders Mousinho will be bringing to the club, we'll be all right.
Also, great name! Sounds like some private eye out of a detective novel.

Yes, Richard Hughes needs to add that in as a criteria for new players, they must have the right sort of name.

A bold assumption, but not the point I was making. He will have been introduced to the other members of the team, but has to be able to remember the names. In low grade pub football, half the team can be new each week, so keeping track of who you are playing with isn't easy.

I used to play in a Sunday team where we’d trawl houses at 10:30, chucking stones at windows to try and drag players out of their beds. Often ended up with the odd ringer or two in the line-up who you’d never met.

Yes, remembering names is clearly a major potential problem but Mousihno is a well-qualified coach and I'm sure they will be working on this thoroughly in training this week. I think Name-recalling takes up most of the FA Level 1 Coaching Badge.

I thought he looked pretty good yesterday. Perhaps the most dominating keeper since Forde (who, as I was told at the time, was brought in to take command of the penalty area rather than just be a great shot stopper) and it was good to see him "encouraging" the defenders out of the box in the second half.

And as long as the players are in danger of being shipped out in the transfer window. When that's all over at the start of Feb, and we go into a downward spiral , I feel sorry for the poor bloke. Oops

Top, top player for sure.

Sam Spade?

We need to build for next season really get a new centre back in and see how macey plays for the rest of the season maybe try and make it permanent if he continues to impress we could then already have our back 5 ready to hit the ground running next season. I know a very outside chance for play offs this season though

I'd say he was more than pretty good yesterday, he was outstanding and our match-winner. Much more deserving of MOTM than Dale's impression of the duracell bunny. But it's only one game and lets hope we don't find out the reason why he has only played 80 odd games at the age of 28.

If he can make as much difference s Forde did, then we will be on for a decent run in.
