Plymouth rely on loans more than we do, I wonder if their fans are up in arms.
Or does it depend on if you pick the right loans ? If we had gone up last year with Bazunu, Carter & Hirst I don't think there would have been too many complaints here.

That way we can have a better chance of staying up with a team we can call our own. We couldn't afford to buy the three players you mention so it would have been tough the next season in the championship as it has been this season in League One. Plus G would have been going spare if Cowley had got us promoted.

Let’s see how Plymouth get on if they do get promoted and the loanees go back to their clubs

I don't mind loans in principle would would prefer them to be few but of good quality, not just a place-holder. It's also been my impression, not necessarily just with Pompey, that when some decent loanees become permanent signings, they often don't quite live up to previous hopes and expectations. Just an impression, as I say.

In Azaz, Cosgrove and Mumba we have attacking prowess we would never bd able to afford. It is probably more important to get loans right given they have to make an immediate impact. They need to be the cherry on the cake.

I’m sure you’re enjoying your season and rightfully so. What’s the plan if you get into the championship though? More of the same? Do you think the loan model is possible to do in the higher leagues?
Having an astute manager (as Plymouth have) to use loanees to the best advantage is key. Another question for PAFC is do you think you will be able to keep Schumacher much beyond this season?

I note that Schumacher didn't seem to have that much more coaching experience than Mousinho when he was appointed manager at Argyle. Some work out, some don't, but everyone has to start somewhere.

They both did the Guy Whittingham FA course together.
