They could be relegated as a punishment, as long as that was accompanied by properly enforced financial rules at champ level too.
Along with the government white paper on football governance, we might just see some proper effort to bring football finance back into reality. Which would do us as a club a lot of good.
It won't make any difference because the damage is done. They now have the facilities, stadium and financial clout to withstand any temporary loss of points or position. Getting them relegated will only gift them the championship title (just like they did to Saracans in Rugby Union I think) in showboating fashion.
Let them all feck off to the ESL. It means nothing to us unless anyone wants to spunk billions and all the dictators have chosen their clubs already so that ship has sailed. Even the FFP itself is flawed because the big clubs would have the biggest stadiums so will have the biggest budgets so will continue to outspend anyone trying to disrupt the cozy club.
