BTW the poster on ThePompeyForum is bang on the money normally. Its no use dismissing it as someone wanting to paint the club in a bad light! Tornante as business people want to balance the books & see this as the best way of doing it & the salary cap hasn't entirely gone away. It'll be discussed further in the summer, I'd expect it to be based more on income thus time. Also as an aside it could be a way of getting rid of some of these players-I'm all for that. They've shown themselves to have little backbone IMHO.

Why am I reading through a million repeat posts before I get to anything new? Bit confusing.....
Bluebollox,
I have indeed read that, and read the News article weeks ago when they reported that cuts will be needed. Neither of those indicate that these cuts would require to be as high as 40% (which was talked about under the salary cap) - that makes no sense at all, whereas 5-10% would be far more likely and still be enough to cause some issue.

It doesnt excuse the complete downing of tools though, does it? If you're offered a 40% pay cut, get on the phone to your agent and get a better deal. Thats what Burgess and McGeehan did. You're not going to get any offers refusing to give any effort.
What's raggetts excuse? Marquis? Brown? Theyve got plenty of time to run on their contracts dont they?

Gerry, Jezzer and Rick
My old English master, Scruff Woods, at Portsmouth Northern Grammar, made it his life’s work to get the offspring of working class parents like mine, to appreciate the English language. I didn’t thank him enough at the time but on so many occasions since I wish I had ! Sorry if my language offends your sensitive ears, I will try and moderate it in future. Gor blimey guv, fancy you finkin I’m a toff, my Mum and Dad couldn’t afford a pot to P*ss in let alone a winder to frow it orv ! Better ?

Although judging how they are playing currently those crowds could be considerably lower than in recent seasons. I detest the pair of them! Lighten up FFS! |
