Raggs was OK although a bit iffy at times in the first half which is kind of understandable with the lack of game time. With Raggett, I've always felt that he offered something, I just never felt that we could ever go up if Raggett was our main centre back. Our overall play looks a lot better woth Poole there. And that isn't particularly a knock on Raggett, he's just a level below the likes of Poole, Clarke and Burgess.

Hopefully we can keep Raggie, I guess he might ask to move in January. With him and Towler as back up, combined with all the rest of the back up squad we really should not finish out of the play offs at the very least.

I think Raggs will stay until the end of the season , after all he’ll want a medal.

I went today sat high up in the Centre North Stand. Please Note; Blue Tag, Cunni, 100G! What I saw was a dreadful 1st half display. Vale played with 5 at the back most ofthe time 5 sometimes 6. Pompey couldn't string a pass together & Sparkes had a nightmare! We couldn't take a corner & only 1 good free kick from Rafferty. Vale pressed us & should have been 2-0 up at H.T. First Half M.O.M. Westwood's Drummer!
2nd half passing miles better & Sparkes much better going forward. We started crossing the balls into the area low & hard, that paid off for both goals. Bishop deseverdly M.O.M. for his 2 goals but I thought Raggett could have had 2 as well. He got stuck in & cleared our lines at the back & deserved to run Bishop close.
I thought the keeper was their best player & made some good saves especially the 2nd header from Raggett.
Yengi showed a lot of potential although only 5 minutes but sprinted like a greyhound.

Good post Mikey. 1st half was dreadful, Vale could have easily gone in 2 up. Ripley their keeper kept a clean sheet here last season for Morecambe. Generally regarded as one of the best in this league, he wouldn't have been happy when he watches his part in our 1st goal.

You’re right Mikey, first half was dreadful. Thought Vales chances were speculative and the one that hit the post Norris had covered. Also , credit to Port Vale they came to play football and still attacked us until the end.
Saydee was fantastic at holding up the ball and even played a deeper role in midfield once or twice. Great first goal from Bishop.

When you re bottom of the league, those shots off the post, then hit your keeper and go in.
When you re top, they never do.
Funny old game as a great striker often said.

Didn't realise our penalty was for handball. Though it was for manhandling Bishop.

You're joking about westwoods' drummer right?

The fecker bangs the drum like a 6 year old with learning difficulties and adds absolutely nothing to the atmosphere.

Yes, I did Cunni. Almost forgot to mention the Ref who only deserved 2/10 for an insipid display.

How their captain Nathan Smith got away with countless fouls on Bishop is beyond me!

He was obstructing him from the start to the end of the game.

They received 3 yellow cards & he wasn't one of them.

More than time to add an automatic yellow for grabbing shirts or hugging.
