Great ambassador for the club while he was here, always played to the best of his ability - yes as has already been said he made the odd mistake but those steadily decreased as he improved. Was sorry to see him leave but glad things have gone well for him in Belgium. One of life's good guys.

The highlight for me was that weekend when we were postponed and he turned up with his boots to help a kids team.

I remember being at the Doncaster game at home as our automatic promotion bid was faltering in the 18/19 season. What Whatmough came off injured (as per), Burgess came on to a collective groan and there was immediately a mixup between him and the keeper and they scored. He did well after that to get established as a top league one defender. He seems like a real nice guy.
