For me the Eisners backed the team this year. I think most people agreed that at the end of August we were in the best position we'd been in years regarding team make up.
A high number of injuries would affect anyone, we don't have a divine right to be good in those circumstances. Our recruitment team will have been looking mainly towards the end of the season with only one or two players coming in in January. As it is they now have to ramp up but it's so difficult to recruit high quality in this window, teams won't want to to let these players go. All the good players from higher divisions that were suitable for loaning will already be out at clubs.
I imagine the amount of money you'd need to guarantee the 4 or 5 buys we'd need would be extraordinarily high and unrealistic. Whilst of course we all want this year to be the year we have to recognise that in a practical sense there is a sensible limit they can spend.
