That's taking into account their character as much as their failure on the pitch. I never forgave Perrin for forcing De Zeeuw out of the club when he wanted to stay, and his reason for doing so was that De Zeeuw was too popular in the dressing room and had more influence over the players than he did. (Source: a player at the time, who also said in the August of that year that none of the players wanted to play for him and he would be gone by Christmas). He was also tactically incompetent ...... 3-3-3-1 FFS. And he signed some shyte players like Mbsesuma, Vignal, Viafara, Robert, Vukic. Yes, the 4-1 game gave him some credit in the bank, but he had only been in the club a couple of weeks then so how much of that was down to him is debatable. The players would have been well up for that game whover was sitting in the dugout.

Paul Hart was a coont. Hated him and his negative football.

Paul Hart, very disappointed and very surprised that he just had nothing to offer, was expecting far better! He wasn't a coont though.
Also very surprised and disappointed that Tony Adams was utterly cack too taking into account what an outstanding player he'd been. Did unfortunately come across a bit odd however, which may have contributed. Fenwick on the other hand I had a bit of sympathy with, iirc(?) got shafted by Venables when he fecked off down under with half our squad
