I think that we are the first team this year not to concede At Peterborough, so much for our defence being torn a new one Tichfield, you clown.
Massive win

The defence gave them barely a sniff today. Absolutely brilliant. I love how much the players want this. Ryley Towler has every reason to be a bit sulky and unenthusiastic about life this season but he was giving it fist pumps at the end.

As the weeks go by, running out of superlatives for this lot. For this match we have 2 players knocked back by illness but, as before, fringe players step up and put in a performance like they've been playing week in week out. Partnerships rarely or never tried out before work as if used regularly.
And what a blessing to have a gaffer who knows when to make subs and who to change. MPH had to go and I love that he brought Yengi on for Saydee too. Takes some balls to do that in that game. Their back 4 must have dreaded seeing that swap. Gonna have withdrawal symptoms for 2 weeks.

Beat Bolton and we are basically up. Beat Bolton & Derby and we are basically champions.

Chuft to bits that we got the win but I’m not blind to the fact that Peterborough absolutely ran rings round us at times and it was their appalling lack of composure around the box that saved us.
It makes it all the the funnier, of course.

Or outstanding work by the Pompey defence.

Absolutely fantastic win and it just demonstrates what a great squad and astute manager we have.
Great to see Whyte playing well and Yengi just seems to get better and better. Very impressed with Sparkes’ defensive display today too, he was very good. The central defensive pair were great as usual, Posh never really got a look in, despite all the dire warnings about their firepower. Pack once again was immense, it’s amazing that he can keep up that level of performance. Bit of a rest now, then the final push and we can all look forward to football at a higher level. Happy days. What a game? What an advert for L1?
Great atmosphere created by both sets of fans. What can you say other than it was a brilliant, hard fought win. 7 games remaining and a few more performances like that will see us champions. PUP! |
