There is a price for every player, and Hateley's fee gave AB the finance to build an entire promotion team. Come to think of it, he spent that money very well indeed.
Mark Hateley only played for us in 1983/4 season - sold to AC Milan in the summer of '84.
We didn't get promoted until the1986/7 season -a lot of the squad played in both seasons.
Nothing like the Peter Crouch money that TJC used to finance a whole promotion team in one season.
