Pompey are supposedly close to signing Reading defender Tom Mcintyre on a free transfer.

He's left footed, 25 and quite versatile. He can play left back or defensive midfield.
Thought it was right sided CB we need? Especially as we have Shocknasty and Towler to cover the left side.
And Ogilvie, at a pinch.

Shaughnessy is a right footer so would play the right hand side.
No he’s not, that’s why Towler can’t get a regular spot on the left . Poole and Raggett are the two right sided CB’s

Yes he is. You can play a right Footer at left centre back. Raggett plays at the right side because it’s a strong partnership with Shaughnessy (even if he’s right footed) then Shaughnessy and Towler!
of course he could just be a good player and available and wants to move and at a club that has to sell
He's a left footed 6'1" Centre Back who can also play Left Back. Derby in for him as well.
Seems a decent signing and southern. If Raggs goes when his contract expires, having a replacement in the squad would be handy.
Shaughnessy will not play the right side, regardless of what foot he kicks with.
Would be pleased with this one
Woth this and the Rotherham bid for Lang supposedly being off, it is exciting times. If both these deals happen, I may produce a quantity of ejaculate usually reserved for the blue whale
Sou'Wester at the ready, then!
Been browsing Readings forum.

They say he has been injured but even when fit he doesn't get near their team.

They would be happy to save on his wages and get rid.

Why on earth are we going for him if he can't get into Readings team?
Who says we’re in for him?

This lad has almost 100 appearances in the Championship for Reading offers versatility at the back and is only 25. We have other options, including Towler and Oglivie across the back at the moment but he offers good cover in the event of another injury. It makes sense - we have a Championship-quality defender who was also wanted by a couple of our promotion rivals and has cost us no fee. What's not to like?
When you put it like that, maybe he would not be a bad signing.
Also very similar attributes to what Poole has

Injured?
Two more names on the rumour mill, although personally I think they’re both non runners.
Callum Marshall - WHU/ NI striker
Nectarios Triantis - Sunderland, CB

Well the Callum Marshall rumour was a load of cack, he went to WBA.
Before Raggett joined us he was playing on the left side for his former club.
And it’s interesting that he’s swapped sides with Shockers.
75 grand the reported fee (with a sell on clause). I know fans gave accused the Eisner's of going for the cheap option but that is a seriously good cheap option if it gets over the line. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask.

Who else can we pinch from the Royals?
