If you're London based, the game is being shown at the Freemasons Arms, Long Acre near Covent Garden.
The great big beautiful Bolton match thread.

Can be frustrating trying to find a place willing to show L1 football. But once found a pub for a game against Plymouth - empty bar me and four Argyle fans. 3-0 down at half-time and I couldn't face any more.

Just seen signs on the Eastern Rd announcing it will be closed Monday evening (Bolton) from 8pm to 5am Tuesday. Sounds like chaos waiting to happen after the game if that is definitely happening.

How much of an effect will that have on visiting fans and how much additional time will we need to allow for an alternative route? Advice appreciated so I can let folk know.

Best to check the info is correct but if that goes ahead then it will have a huge impact on anyone driving to the game. That could truly be a nightmare.

A game not to lose

If they stick to this plan then closed from 8pm Monday evening so normal for getting to game. Eastern rd is one of prob 3 routes out of the city and is always slowwwww after a game but will make alternative routes (copnor road/ motorway) that much slower. You might prefer a late takeaway or a local pub stop ( non alc for drivers of course!!!) and wait a while or just join the queue! At least it’s only a couple of miles out of city. Sorry I can’t be of much more help.. can only hope they change the plan and wish you safe if slow journey back! We can probably blame Sky for this!

Whilst I'm not confident we will win the game, I do believe that if we win this game we will have the belief to go on and win automatic promotion.
We have injuries, but some players will be back soon, and with a strong January window we can push on. We need another quality striker and a good centre back. So a win will put us on 20 games played, 46 points, and barring more bad luck with injuries the team really should achieve automatic promotion from that position.

I don't see us scoring if Bolton are putting 5 in midfield. Not unless we get a pen.
Going for 0-1. Hope I'm wrong!

After yesterday’s results, it’s all bunching up underneath us. We really do need to win this game to put distance and confidence between us and the rest. I perceive that there is a large section of our fan base that would fear a repeat of previous season’s collapses.
It would help massively if Yengi were to spark into his early season form. There would’ve far less concern about Bishop being out then. We can’t be too dependent on one player.

Two are up and down WBs in a flexible format so sometimes it 532 or 3151 or some other combination depending on what's required - they don't just all sit in midfield the whole game. FWIW our high press can leave spaces behind the WBs if you're quick and accurate enough, but with Santos in particular being so huge and fast you'd need to overload quickly before the back 3 cover it. All depends on what team is selected.

Lowery will slot in for Robertson while he is away on Oz duty. We can finally be more confident in our recruitment team in January. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, I'd say things have never looked better..

This will without doubt be tough. They haven't conceded a goal in the league since October and they are no mugs going forward either. OK Exeter were a complete shambles but Bolton still seem very good going forwards and have very little in the way of injury concerns if anything. My instincts at the start of the season were that Bolton would go up. They were exceptional at times last season but buckled a bit under the weight of so many fixtures and a lighter squad than now.
It would be an absolutely glorious three points if we can get them though.

Whatever, it’ll mark how far we’ve come since last season.
I fancied Bolton too.

Overall, it's fair to say that Bolton were better than us last season.
Despite that, we sent them packing in that evening game at FP. Losing 0-1 and not looking great, we managed to bang in 3 in the final half hour to win 3-1. No reason why we cannot do something similar tomorrow night!

PFC web site implies the game is also on iFollow. Anyone know if that's definitely correct?

Really looking forward to this game. Two great clubs at this level.
